Trading In Game Items Online.
« on: March 01, 2012, 01:58:58 PM »

In this day of instant online gratification many players have found use of the internet in buying and selling In Game items and services. By and large we have not had any issues with the vast majority of merchants who have engaged with our players in such trades. However we have found that there are a fair number of questionable instances in which one or more of the parties have not fulfilled their end of the bargain and in a few rare cases have found that the validity of the tags is unverifyable or even forgeries.

Also with the advent of the National Goblin Policy and direct sale of items we needed to clarify our position on this type of commerce and how it affects the game and you the player.

Regarding the Chapters who use the Gameforge DB validity of the tags is a simple matter to determine and we have no issue with the buying, selling and trading of items generated by these means. If players choose to engage in "mail order" situations with these tags it is a strict matter of buyer beware.

Regarding Chapters outside our Region or those *not* utilizing the Gameforge DB we ask that all actual exchanges of money for goods be done on site and In Game. Advertising, Marketing and deal making in any forum is not our concern and we do not wish to restrict it in any manner but we *do* want to make sure the players and staff have immediate access to the tags for verification, etc with both trading parties present to ensure any issues can be resolved quickly.

Last we request that merchants outside our game not engage in regular trades with our players if you do not *currently* play our game. "Plans to attend a future event" is not acceptable. One or two odd trades per year is not an issue but if you are not planning on being a part of our game we ask that you not be a burden on our economy by removing gold from our system with no hope of getting it to cycle back through.

You may also request Ownership or Plot from NERO Atlanta attempt to verify Tags from outside the chapter prior to purchase by sending a message to owners or plot with necessary contact information.
